Barry "Butch" Emerson Executive Director

Our Executive Director Barry "Butch" Emerson was raised Bartow County and graduated from Cass High School. He and his wife of 34 years, Starr Emerson, a retired special needs teacher, chose to raise their family here in the community they love so much. They are members of Euharlee Baptist Church.

Butch has 34 years of business management experience, and served the last 15 of those as the Bank Manager for United Community Bank's Cartersville Office. After his recent retirement from the business world, he has chosen to share his talents and vision for growth with the Georgia Diversified Industries.

Butch serves on the Bartow County Board of Education. He also serves as the Director on the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of commerce and is a member of the Bartow County Rotary Club. He was recently appointed to the Region 1 Advisory Council for the State Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

Butch's passion for his community, love for his family, and compassion for adults with special needs make him uniquely qualified to serve in this position.

Tabitha Baynard Operations Manager

Our Operations Manager, Tabitha Baynard, was born in Acworth, GA. She relocated to Ohio during her pre-teen years, where she graduated from Waverly High School. Tabitha went on to study accounting and business at Shawnee State University. She left her studies early to assist her father with his construction business. She has two children Carley and Chase, and a granddaughter RoseaLee.

Tabitha spent 16 years with Hardscapes of Georgia bidding blueprints, supervising projects, and handling the accounting. While working with her father she also drove a school bus for the

Bartow County School System.

She began working with the Good Shepherd Foundation (now Georgia Diversified Industries) in 2014. When she came to work with us she said "I feel like I'm home." Along with the responsibilities of a normal operations manager, Tabitha's additional duties include teaching the clients skills to perform a task from start to finish, and showing them they can function as a team to produce a quality product. Her praise and encouragement creates an environment of purpose for our clients. She believes in them, so they believe in

themselves!

Tabitha's work experience has taught her patience and to resolve problems quickly. Her passion and purpose is with special needs. She loves our clients like her own family and works patiently and diligently for them to know a sense of self-worth and pride. While the Georgia Diversified Industries provides a job and training, it is Tabitha's heart that has instilled a sense of family. She has shown our clients that they are loved unconditionally for who they are.
